Progress in backdoor talks between JI, Sindh govt bring results
KARACHI (Dunya News) - The sit-in of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has begun to bring results and a progress in the backdoor talks between Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Sindh government has brought results reported Dunya News on Wednesday.
According to details, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi has been holding sit-in in front of Sindh Assembly for the last 27 days.
The Sindh government has hinted at subordinating some important local bodies to the mayor. At least three important areas in the local body law will be subordinated to the mayor.
Sources said that the talks between Jamaat-e-Islami and Sindh government have been successful and the top leadership of PPP has played an important role for its success.
Moreover the sources revealed that on the other hand, some ministers of the ruling party are also unhappy about not being included in the negotiating team and not having their own role.
According to sources, the announcement of protest sit-ins on major routes of the city on Friday has also increased the pressure on the PPP, now the talks are likely to reach a final conclusion in 48 hours. After the success of the talks, the sit-in will be called off from the Sindh Assembly.
