Transparency International lowered score due to rule of law: Ch Fawad

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that the Transparency International has lowered the score due to rule of law and it is not the financial corruption. 

Addressing the media on Transparency International report, he said that the matter has been discussed in the cabinet, the full report has not been published yet. Transparency International has different criteria. Economist s ranking should be checked by the ones who check it in Pakistan. There is no doubt that there is a lot of work to be done in this regard. There is a separate law for rich and poor people in Pakistan.Transparency International s report does not include financial corruption, and criminal justice reforms will help resolve cases.

In response to the questions being asked regarding Shazad Akbar he said that the most important thing is regarding the census. The former interior adviser did his job with great strength, he was a brave man, there will be big challenges for whoever will come in his place.

Fawad added that the cabinet has approved Rs5 Billion for the census. The census will be completed in December this year, with the release of results in April and May. In January, the Election Commission will be able to start new constituencies; the next election will be on the new census.

The police had to issue the challan within the first 14 days, the duration of the police challan has now been done to 40 days, bail has been made mandatory in the check dishonor case.

The cabinet has approved criminal law. Every criminal case must be decided within 9 months. The legal proceeding will be run against the judge and prosecutor if found guilty. If the case continues for more than nine months, the judge will inform the Chief Justice of the reasons.

Earlier on Monday, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that the case of President Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Shehbaz Sharif should be heard in a live broadcasting.

Fawad said that the court is requested to decide these cases so that the people may know, Shehbaz Sharif case should be heard on daily basis, these cases should reach logical conclusion.It is a pity that Sindh government has not provided facilities like health and ration card to the people. He further said, we got Pakistan as it was in 1947, per capita income has increased from $1400 to $1650. Pakistan s 100 companies earned Rs929 Billion. He added that the private companies should increase the salaries of the salaried class.

Pakistan s growth is 37.5%. Despite COVID-19, economic conditions are improving. Today, the world is following Pakistan s COVD-19 policy. The debt burden is also decreasing, Pakistan is moving in the right direction.
