Abstain from voting if you don't want, PM Imran responds to Khattak's criticism

“My war is a war of national interest,” Imran Khan said.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – “If you are not satisfied with me, I will hand over the government to someone else,” Prime Minister Imran Khan responded to Defense Minister Pervaiz Khattak’s criticism during the parliamentary party meeting.

He said this in the parliamentary party meeting held in Islamabad ahead of the National Assembly session to get the Finance Supplementary Bill 2021 approved.

During the meeting, Defense Minister Pervaiz Khattak criticised Prime Minister Imran Khan amid worst ongoing gas crisis in the country.

During the parliamentary party meeting, harsh words were exchanged between Prime Minister Imran Khan and Defense Minister Pervez Khattak on the issue of gas.

Following the heated debate the defense minister left the meeting. He also criticized Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Khattak said, “We have made you the Prime Minister.” He said there is a ban on gas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding that despite producing the gas and electricity we are being oppressed. “If this is your attitude then we will not be able to vote,” he added.

Meanwhile, PM Imran Khan said, “If you are not satisfied with me, I will hand over the government to someone else.”

On this occasion, the premier said, “I want to make it clear that there will be no compromise on the national interest, the security of state institutions is the first and foremost priority.

Responding to the defense minister’s criticism, Imran Khan said, “Do not blackmail me and don’t vote for me if you do not want,” adding “I am fighting the war of the country and have no interest in government.”

“My war is a war of national interest,” he added.
