PTI wins three reserved seats of AJK Legislative Assembly
A total of nine candidates were contesting on these three reserved seats.
MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has emerged victorious on three reserved seats of Ulema-o-Mashaikh, technocrat and overseas Kashmiris of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly (AJKLA).
A total of nine candidates were contesting on these three reserved seats.
PTI’s Mazhar Saeed has won Ulema-o-Mashaikh seat while Rafique Nayyar grabbed technocrat seat. The seat of overseas Kashmiris was taken by Muhammad Iqbal.
All the three candidates received 27 votes.
Election Commission had declared AJK Legislative Assembly hall as a polling station.
Earlier, Kausar Taqdees Gillani, Imtiyaz Naseem, and Sabeeha Sadique Chaudry of PTI, Nebela Ayoub Khan of PPP, and Nisaran Abbasi of PML-N were declared unopposed against five Women reserved seats.
It is to be mentioned here that Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly will meet in Muzaffarabad tomorrow at 10:00 am.
The newly elected members of the Legislative Assembly will take oath during the session. The oath-taking will be followed by elections for offices of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.
Election for the leader of the house will take place the next day.
