Chief Justice presses on further improving justice system

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmed has said that there is a need to ensure rule of law in the country, for which the justice system needs to be further improved.

The Chief Justice was addressing a district judiciary function on criminal, civil references and bench book at the Punjab Judicial Academy in Lahore.

Justice Gulzar Ahmed said that there was no alternative to continuous research and urged the judges of the district judiciary to continue to investigate more. He also stressed the need to increase the number of tribunals and district judiciary.

Justice Gulzar Ahmed said that judges have been providing justice even during the worldwide pandemic. He congratulated the Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court on the establishment of Commercial Courts.

Addressing the ceremony, Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Qasim Khan said that timely decisions in the cases of overseas Pakistanis resulted in increased foreign exchange. He stressed on going all out for further improving the country’s judicial system.

At the end of the ceremony, souvenirs were presented to CJP Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Qasim Khan. Certificates were distributed among the lawyers assisting in the preparation of the books.
