Senate passes CPEC authority bill despite opposition's protest
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Senate on Thursday passed China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) authority bill despite opposition’s protest.
The Senate meeting was chaired by Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjarani. The opposition walked out in the process of approving the bill.
The government brought a supplementary agenda of the bill on the establishment of CPEC Authority and Advisor to the Prime Minister Babar Awan tried to introduce the bill in the Upper House of the Parliament but opposition members staged protest and walked out of the House over attempt to introduce the bill.
