Lockdown can be imposed in other cities if pandemic surges: Faisal Sultan

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr. Faisal Sultan Tuesday said lockdown can be imposed in other cities as well if the coronavirus pandemic surges.
The SAPM talked to media and said Pakistan Army has been summoned to ensure implementation on the COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs). He told that Mardan has been put under lockdown over increase in cases.
Dr. Faisal Sultan said the capacity of the healthcare system is being increased and import of oxygen from various countries is possible. He told that the process of vaccination is ongoing transparently across the country.
Pakistan is procuring jabs from three different companies but the supply is less at the moment due to high demand, he said while urging all to follow the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) decisions.
