Investigations reveal sugar mafias own benami properties worth billions in Europe
Money was sent abroad by hawala hundi.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – In the ongoing investigations against the sugar mafias, it has been revealed that those individuals involved in this illicit activity own benami properties worth billions in Europe.
According to details, the properties were made after the illegal profit money was sent to Malaysia, Dubai and Europe including England through informal remittance channels of hawala hundi.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has decided to contact the concerned countries to obtain details of benami properties. Furthermore, names and details of those involved in sugar satta will be provided to foreign embassies through the foreign ministry.
