PIA plane lands safely after bird strike
Bird hit the right engine of the aircraft.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – A plane of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has landed safely at Karachi Airport after a bird hit the right engine.
According to spokesperson of the airline, the bird strike occurred during takeoff of flight PK-368. All 162 passengers have been shifted to the lounge as officials evaluate damage to the aircraft.
The spokesperson further said that pollution around airport and lack of an effective mechanism to stop birds are major reasons behind such incidents and stressed that air safety is collective responsibility of society and concerned departments.
