Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said the government did horse-trading in the Senate elections.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Tuesday said no-confidence motion in the National Assembly (NA) or the Punjab Assembly will be for the country and not for power.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi talked to media and said Pakistan cannot move forward until it starts following the law and the constitution which do not allow a prime minister to seek the vote of confidence from the parliament himself.

The erstwhile premier said, “Imran Khan threatened the opposition in his speech but the NA speaker remained silent. His own Finance Minister was defeated by Members National Assembly (MNAs). The minister should have quit on moral grounds afterwards.

“The incumbent regime has done horse-trading in the Senate elections by giving Rs 70 crore in Balochistan and Rs 35 crore in Sindh. Promise of funds worth Rs 50 crore with assembly members is bribery. Institutions played part in securing vote of confidence for Imran Khan.”
