Raja Basharat condemns attempt to spoil electoral atmosphere
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Reacting to the shooting in today’s Duska by-election, Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat said that the attempt to spoil the electoral atmosphere in Daska is reprehensible in all respects.
A statement issued by Raja Basharat said that matters deteriorated due to the interference and violence by unconcerned persons of PML-N. Police should ensure immediate arrest of the perpetrators and maintain law and order, he added.
The provincial law minister directed that security be tightened at the polling stations during the counting, adding that Gujranwala administration should take special measures to control the situation.
He said that special attention should be paid to the movement of unrelated persons from other districts.
“No one should be allowed to sabotage the transparency of elections”, he said.
