Lahore again tops list of world's most polluted cities
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Lahore has once again been declared as the most polluted city in the world in terms of air-pollution.
Air pollution in the provincial capital has reached alarming levels, the average rate of pollution reached 321 micrograms per cubic meter.
According to the details, the Cannt area was recorded with the highest smog and AQI of 516%.
In addition, the pollution in Gulberg area was recorded between 325 and 341 while the air quality index in the area around Shimla Pahari was recorded at 321.
Toxic haze rates ranged from 284 to 299 in DHA areas and 283 micrograms per cubic meter in Model Town. Medical experts consider smog above 150 to be harmful to health.
Medical experts said that as much air pollution as there is at present, citizens should stay at home. However, if necessary, do not go out without precautions.
