Presidential ordinance is an attempt to pressurize the apex court: Ahsan Iqbal

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Ahsan Iqbal, General Secretary of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), on Tuesday said that promulgation of ordinance despite lacking two third majority in Parliament is height of ignorance of incumbent government.

Ahsan Iqbal, while talking to media persons outside accountability court in Lahore, alleged that Prime Minister Imran Khan wants to issue Senate tickets to his friends. He further said that Presidential ordinance is an attempt to pressurize the apex court.

The PML-N leader, while announcing that his party will challenge presidential ordinance on open Senate vote, said that constitution of Pakistan cannot be amended just to benefit friends of Imran Khan. He also requested Supreme Court to reject Presidential reference on Senate elections through open ballot.

Ahsan Iqbal said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is in power from last three years but has failed to prove any case against PML-N leaders.

He further said that PML-N fulfilled its election promises. On the other hand, Imran Khan promised to provide 10 million jobs but in reality, people lost their jobs during tenure of this government.
