Pakistan will continue to support Kashmiris struggle: President
President urged UN to play its role in resolving Kashmir dispute
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - President Dr Arif Alvi said that Pakistan will continue to extend its support to the Kashmiris in their just struggle for the right to self-determination.
Addressing a ceremony in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day in Islamabad today (Thursday), he urged the United Nations and international community to play its due role in resolving the longstanding dispute.
The President said there are numerous UN resolutions demanding plebiscite in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr Arif Alvi said over eight million people have been besieged in the occupied territory by nine hundred thousand Indian troops.
FM calls upon UN, int’l community to take serious note of atrocities in IIOJK
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has called upon the United Nations and international community to take serious note of atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a ceremony in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day in Islamabad today, he said India must allow the UN to investigate the grave human rights violations in occupied territory.
The Foreign Minister said people of IIOJK are in extreme misery as India has unleashed a reign of terror against the innocent people, which is a clear violation of UN resolutions.
He said operating under draconian laws with impunity, Indian occupation forces are committing unspeakable atrocities to silence the voice of the Kashmiris and break their will.
Foreign Minister said India s increased ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and the use of cluster ammunition and heavy artillery should end immediately.
He said Pakistan has already shared extensive and irrefutable evidence of India s active planning, promoting, aiding, abetting, financing and executing terrorist activities in Pakistan.
