Allama Iqbal's 'botched' sculpture draws flak on social media

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has ordered to remove the sculpture of national poet Allama Mohammad Iqbal installed at a Lahore park after it drew humor as well as criticism from netizens.

A new Allama Iqbal sculpture was recently placed in Lahore’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park and it has drawn many people’s attention, but for all the wrong reasons.

Pictures of the sculpture spread across social media with many people commenting about the shockingly unique artistic liberties taken by the creator of the sculpture.

Some people called the carving an evidence of nepotism  while others requested Deputy Commissioner to remove the sculpture as it was a disgrace to the iconic national figure.

A twitter user said “when you learn making designs from online classes”.

Some people were quite offended at this Iqbal sculpture in Lahore.

One of the users demanded the statue to be removed from the park. "I strongly demand to remove this. It is an insult to Allama Iqbal, and get it done by a professional sculptor."
