Losses worth billions of rupees in KP power projects revealed

The government suffered total losses of Rs 22 billion due to deferments and poor planning.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) issued a report in which losses worth billions of rupees in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa power projects have been revealed.

Dunya News has on Thursday obtained the report including details of hydropower projects in Swat, Kohistan and Mardan. The projects started in 2007 could not be completed till 2017.

The government suffered total losses of Rs 22 billion due to deferments and poor planning.

The report said that losses of over Rs 7.73 billion occurred for not being able to produce and sale electricity and of over ten billion due to lack of administrative control.
