Threat of resignations will only be sparkler, not political bomb: Sheikh Rashid
Sheikh Rashid said the government wants positive dialogues with the opposition.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Wednesday said the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) threat of giving resignations will only be a sparkler, not a political atom bomb.
The federal minister was talking to media in Islamabad. Sheikh Rashid said PDM can come to the federal capital if it wants but democracy will head towards a dead end if the opposition takes any extreme step.
The newly-appointed interior minister said the government wants positive dialogues with the opposition. He said only Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) supported the democratic process and is in a better position at the moment.
Sheikh Rashid was sure that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif would take politics forward with a positive approach. He said he has directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to solve public complaints.
The federal minister said there are 400 people on the Exit Control List (ECL) and he has directed the authorities to shorten the list.
