Smart, micro lockdown to be imposed across Karachi amid surge in COVID-19 cases

A formal notification for the regarding the lockdown is expected to be issued tomorrow

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Following the outbreak of the second wave of coronavirus in Karachi, the local administration has decided to impose smart lockdown in four districts and micro smart lockdown in two districts.

An important meeting of Deputy Commissioners and District Health Officers was held with Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shalawani in chair. The meeting decided to impose smart and micro-smart lock in six districts of the city including South, Central, East, West districts of the city and Malir.

Meanwhile, micro smart lockdown to be imposed in Korangi and Malir districts of Karachi.

A formal notification for the regarding the lockdown is expected to be issued tomorrow [Saturday] by the concerned Deputy Commissioners. The deputy commissioners also identified the affected areas.

The number of coronavirus cases in Karachi is rapidly surging and the people are frequently found violating the SOPs.
