Sindh govt decides to resume work on K4 water supply project in Karachi
KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Sindh government has decided that all the hurdles of K4 project, the largest water supply project in the city, will be removed and work will be started soon.
According to details, a meeting of Karachi Development Committee was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sindh in which it was decided to resume work by removing all the hurdles of K4 project, the largest water supply project in the city.
The meeting also decided to improve the Wall-man system, end illegal connections and turn off hydrants.
Sindh Information Minister Nasir Shah said that the federal government would extend full support to the project. The K4 distribution system in the city would be set up by the Sindh government. Designing will be done by consultants to remove encroachments from drains.
The meeting was attended by Nasir Shah, Saeed Ghani, Chief Secretary, Federal Ministers Asad Umar and Aminul Haq, Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Humayun Aziz, GCO Commander FWO and others.
It was decided at the meeting that the Local Government Department would revise the S3 project. The KMC administrator was directed to get rid of the ghost employees.
The Sindh Chief Minister directed that the contracts of the cleaning companies which were not cleaning properly should be canceled.
The meeting also reviewed the Karachi Circular Railway project. The recommendations regarding the circular railway will be finalized at the next meeting.
