Grand Health Alliance boycotts OPDs in govt hospitals across Sindh

Sindh Health Minister said the notification of risk allowance suspension has been withdrawn.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Grand Health Alliance on Friday boycotted outpatient departments (OPDs) of public sector hospitals across Sindh demanding restoration of Covid-19 health risk allowance.

The healthcare providers had been protesting on a strike call given by the Grand Health Alliance Sindh which is a conglomerate of the organisations of doctors, paramedics and nurses.

The demands put forward by the alliance include restoration of the health risk allowance on a permanent basis.

Sindh Health Minister Azra Fazal Pechuho said that the notification of risk allowance suspension has been withdrawn, adding that the doctors should end the protest.

She said that as long as there are coronavirus cases, the healthcare providers will get corona risk allowance. She also appealed the doctors to end the OPD boycott.
