Govt will take legal action if PDM violates agreement in Gujranwala rally
Raja Basharat said the opposition should not put the lives of people at stake.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat Friday said the provincial government will take legal action if the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) violates the agreement, signed by both parties, in Gujranwala rally.
Addressing a news conference, Raja Basharat said, “The opposition should not put the lives of people at stake and realize national responsibilities as coronavirus cases are increasing in the country.
“The government could have banned the public meeting according to the COVID Act. The opposition said in writing that it would provide masks and sanitizers to the rally participants. Let’s see how much the management follows the SOPs.
“Propaganda of arrests is being created. It was claimed that a historic gathering would be held in Gujranwala. The stadium holds a capacity of only 30,000 people.”
