Police cannot check a citizen's call record without an FIR.

LAHORE: (Roznama Dunya) – Government has formed audit teams after complaints of misuse of CDRs of mobile phone calls of citizens. The teams will trace officers who were illegally checking mobile phone records across Punjab.

According to details, special audit teams have been formed to check whether the officers have checked the record of any ordinary citizen without registration of an FIR.

Lahore police take out records of an average of 12,000 people in a month while, in small towns, the call records of 3,500 suspects and citizens are checked in a month.
