Punjab IG takes notice of gang rape near Lahore Railway Station

Punjab IG has sought report from Lahore CCPO Umar Sheikh of gang rape incident.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Inspector General (IG) Inam Ghani on Friday has taken notice of gang rape that occurred near Railway Station in Lahore.

According to security personnel, the victim girl received a call from suspects Hassan and Irfan for interview at a local hotel where they both gang raped her.

A case has been registered against the culprits whereas report has also been sought from Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Umar Sheikh.

Earlier, Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar had taken notice of another gang rape incident that took place on Sheikhupura’s Jaranwala Road where a girl was waiting for her bus near Mangtanwala when some unidentified people gave her lift and raped her.

The CM had directed to launch investigation into matter and sought details from Regional Police Officer (RPO) in this regard. He had also ordered the authorities to arrest the culprits as early as possible.

An FIR was also lodged against the suspects.
