PTI funding case: ECP declares scrutiny committee report incomplete
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued an interim judgment in the PTI party funding case, saying that the scrutiny committee investigating the case failed to reach a final conclusion. The documents were not examined and the evidence was not examined.
The decision said the committee had full access to the relevant forums and individuals. The Election Commission had constituted a scrutiny committee on March 29, 2018 to investigate the PTI funding case, the TORs of which were prepared on April 10, 2018.
The ECP said that the committee was supposed to submit its report within a month but after 17 months, an incomplete report was submitted to the commission.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has directed the committee to complete its investigation and submit a final report within six weeks.
