Motorway rape incident investigation on right track: Fayyaz ul Hassan
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Provincial Information Minister Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan has said that the investigation of the motorway rape incident is going in the right direction. However, there was mismanagement in the press conference held yesterday.
While talking in Dunya News program, he said that a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister in which only a few people were present.
In the meeting, the IGP said that the accused would be arrested in an hour. We were trying to keep everything secret.
Fayyaz-ul-Hassan said that the tweet of the PTI leader from Islamabad also caused a problem. Accused Abid Ali became alert after showing the pictures.
News of the accused led to a press conference and there was mismanagement in yesterday s press conference, he added.
He said that the real culprits were traced in 72 hours while in Zainab s case the culprits were not traced even in three months.
He said that both the accused were traced through geo-fencing. The siege is being tightened against the accused. 28 teams are working to investigate the incident.
When accused Waqar-ul-Hassan appeared, Chohan said that it was the result of the efforts of the investigation teams.
Investigation teams reached Waqar-ul-Hassan from Abid Ali s phone record. He had no choice but to appear, said Chohan.
Minister said that the accused has mentioned Abbas s name in his statement. Alleged accused Abbas will also be arrested soon.
