Delimitation schedule issued as local body elections preparation begins in Sindh
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Preparations for new local body elections in Sindh have started, with the Election Commission issuing the schedule of local body delimitation following the notification of expiration by the provincial government.
According to the notification issued by the Sindh government, the terms of the posts of Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Chairman and Vice-Chairman expired on August 30, after which the municipal corporations, district councils and town committees have also been dissolved.
Following the notification of the provincial government, the Election Commission of Pakistan has released the schedule of new local body elections in Sindh. According to the Election Commission schedule, a preliminary list of constituencies will be prepared from September 9 to 22.
Objections will then be sought on September 23, which can be submitted until October 7. After settling the objections on the lists by October 22, the final list of new constituencies in Sindh will be published on October 30.
