'Ten thousand million dollars' needed to solve issues of Karachi: Nasir Hussain
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Provincial Information Minister for Sindh Nasir Hussain Shah has said that a lot of work has been done in Karachi but much more is needed now. Ten thousand million dollars (Ten billion dollars) is needed to solve the problems of Karachi.
In an exclusive interview with Dunya News host Masood Raza, Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah said that Shahrah-e-Faisal used to be closed when it used to rain, after the work done on Shahrah-e-Faisal rain water drains quickly.
Talking on the program, he added that there are some obstacles in the form of stay orders. Development works were carried out in many areas. He vowed to complete all the projects in Karachi.
The provincial information minister said that all the problems need a lot of resources. Prime Minister Imran Khan is also aware of this. The loan has been taken from the World Bank for Karachi only. Ten thousand million dollars is needed to solve the problems of Karachi.
Speaking during the program, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provincial leader Khurrum Sher Zaman said that the provincial information minister Nasir Hussain Shah talked about $10,000 million for Karachi which is laughable. He said that Sindh government only needs money.
The PTI leader further said that Sukkur, Nawabshah and Larkana voted for Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and the situation is not different from Karachi in those areas.
He said that billions of rupees have been spent on the construction of Shahrah-e-Faisal and the mass transit project has not been completed yet.
Khurrum Sher said that in 12 years the sewerage system could not be fixed, the provincial government could not complete the Safe City project, I could write a whole book on the incompetence’s of Sindh government, PPP has no vision.
