Four including children die as roof collapses after rain in Lahore
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Four people, including children, were killed when a roof collapsed due to rain in Lahore.
According to details, the roof of a single story house collapsed in Barkat Town on the outskirts of the provincial capital Lahore.
The house was situated on main GT Road. Eyewitnesses said that the wall of the mud house collapsed due to stagnant rain water after which the roof collapsed. The house which collapsed was below the road level.
The roof of the mud house was also made of mud. There are other mud houses built around the accident site.
Rescue officials said that a couple and two children were killed in the accident. The dead were identified as 35-year-old Ali, 32-year-old Farzana, 4-year-old Iman Ali and 7-year-old Islam Ali. The bodies were taken to Shahdara Tehsil Hospital.
On the other hand, four children drowned in Nala deck near Diwali in Zafarwal area of Sialkot, three children were rescued, search is on for one child, the child who drowned was 12 years old and a resident of Naju village.
