After hearing the arguments, the court issued notices to the parties seeking their replies

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has sought response from the federal government on a petition filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) against the formation of the 10th National Finance Commission. The court held that in light of the facts, if the application gets rejected, the applicant would be slapped with an exemplary fine.

During the hearing of PML-N’s petition by Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, Mohsin Shah Nawaz Ranjha, counsel for PML-N leader Khurram Dastgir, said that Sindh Chief Minister has also raised objections on the formation of NFC.

The judge remarked that arguments should be purely factual, not rhetoric, as matters left unsolved on National Assembly floor are brought to the court.

Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb said that the case of the petitioner should be that the Finance Adviser was made a member without consultation. Mohsin Shah Nawaz Ranjha said that in the constitution, it is clearly written that Pakistan will be run by elected representatives. After hearing the arguments, the court issued notices to the parties seeking their replies.
