The cabinet reviewed matters pertaining to audit survey regarding embezzlement at Karachi Port Trust

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Cabinet on Tuesday decided to make amendments in existing laws for appointment of heads of various government s institutions in the country.

The federal cabinet discussed a seven-point agenda in the meeting.

During the meeting, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs presented 39 proposals to the prime minister on electoral reforms, which the later appreciated, while a report on the appointments without cabinet approval was also presented in the meeting.

The cabinet approved the appointment of Dr Behrawar Jan as Member National Accounts in Pakistan Bureau of Statistics and Ayaz-ud-Din as Member Census Survey.

The issue of the subsidy price of cotton will be reconsidered in the committee.

The cabinet approved the names of the members of National Commission for Status of Women and National Bureau of Statistics. It also approved decisions taken by the Cabinet s Committee on Energy and Economic Coordination Committee.

A committee headed by Dr Ishrat Hussain has also been set up to appoint competent persons from across the country and abroad to head government institutions and the committee will make recommendations for amendments to the rules and regulations.
