Usman Buzdar asks parliamentarians to play an effective role against coronavirus
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has appealed to the citizens to take every care and follow necessary precautions to overcome the spread of coronavirus.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, he asked the people to stay in their homes and follow SOPs in addition to maintaining social distancing. “I, again, appeal to the citizens to do not go out without need because coronavirus could be overcome with the cooperation of the general public,” he said.
The only solution is staying at home because the spread of this disease would be minimum if socialization is maximum avoided.
He reiterated that people should adopt necessary precautions adding that smart lockdown is aimed at saving the people from coronavirus.
Parliamentarians to play effective role
On the other hand, the Punjab CM directed the parliamentarians to play a more effective role with regard to steps taken for overcoming the coronavirus.
While talking to provincial ministers Syed Sumsam Bukhari, Malik Asad Khokhar, Nauman Langrial, Sardar Asif Nakai, Sardar Muhammad Sibtain Khan, Ghazanfar Abbas MPA and former assembly member Rai Hasan Nawaz at his office on Wednesday, he maintained that Pakistan is facing unusual circumstances due to coronavirus pandemic and added that parliamentarians should leave no stone unturned to deal with it.
The government has taken effective steps to deal with coronavirus, he said. More than one lakh and seven thousand persons have been tested and eight BSL-III labs have been made functional with an amount of Rs62 crore.
The CM continued that daily testing capacity of Punjab government has increased to more than six thousand while around 5030 persons have been tested during the last 24 hours. He pronounced that diagnostics tests capacity will be increased to ten thousand daily as sufficient resources are available to deal with coronavirus.
Usman Buzdar went on to say that 3086 coronavirus patients have been healed in Punjab and smart sampling has also been started in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Gujranwala, Gujrat and Faisalabad to conduct tests under different categories.
CM Buzdar maintained that the government is fully aware of the difficulties being faced by the unemployed strata and pointed out that an amount of Rs12000 is being given to the needy under the Ehsaas Kafalat Programme. Similarly, Rs3000 will be given to the deserving people under CM Ramzan Package which will benefit one million families, he disclosed.
