Firdous urges opposition to set aside differences, join hands with govt to curb COVID-19
She felicitated paramedical staff for playing frontline role in national fight against Coronavirus.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Thursday said that the government is ready to take along the opposition at every forum.
Talking to media in Islamabad on Thursday, she urged the opposition leaders to set aside their personal differences, avoid exploiting the coronavirus situation and join hands with government in its endeavors to contain the virus.
The special assistant said that state is like mother and mother do not differ among its children.
Dr Firdous said that the government is taking every possible step for the betterment of the underprivileged class, adding that Saudi Arabian and Turkey-style lockdown cannot be imposed in Pakistan keeping in view the situation.
“There is need to stop the spread of novel coronavirus pandemic in the holy month of Ramazan,” she said and added the government is working to enhance Quarantine centers, isolations wards and testing laboratories across the country to overcome Covid-19.
She also felicitated paramedical staff, including doctors and nurses, for playing frontline role in national fight against Coronavirus.
The special assistant went on to say that it is not a problem of government and opposition at present but a problem of Pakistan, adding that even developed countries cannot provide rations to the people at home.
