Two suspected coronavirus patients test negative in Lahore

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lab tests of two suspected cases of coronavirus have come out negative in the provincial capital’s Doctors Hospital on Thursday.

Speaking exclusively to Dunya News, Dr Javaid Asghar of the Doctors Hospital said that two persons were brought to the hospital following suspicions of contracting the virus but were cleared after testing negative.

He said that rumours were being spread on the social media regarding the virus, adding that there is currently no confirmed case of coronavirus in Lahore.

Dr Javaid went on to say that instead of spreading rumours, an awareness campaign should be initiated.

Earlier today, Punjab government had imposed medical emergency across the province to prevent the spread of deadly coronavirus.

According to details, Rs1 billion had been approved for the measures to curb the virus in the province while suggestions have been sought from different technical committees in this regard.

Punjab Health Minister Yasmin Rashid had assured that the provincial government is taking all the steps to control the virus. Strict monitoring is being carried out at five airports in Punjab, she added.

The minister said that the only way to remain safe from coronavirus is to frequently wash hands.
