Decision taken to not extend retirement age of govt employees
The retirement age remains sixty years for govt employees.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The retirement age of government employees – which is at the age of 60 – will not be extended, while recommendations have been made by a committee to support the case.
According to sources, the committee recommended not to increase the retirement age, saying that the retirement age of public servants should be maintained at 60 years.
This initiative is designed to maximize the potential of youth. The committee also recommended the appointment of federal secretaries for two years to provide protection to government officials during their employment. A step-by-step process regarding the deployment of officers will also be introduced at the provincial level.
