Rioters belong to political party disguised as lawyers: President LHCBA
President LHCBA claimed that those, who were involved in the riot, were members of a party.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The President of Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA), Hafeez-ur-Rehman, revealed that matters between lawyers and doctors were moving towards reconciliation but the situation deteriorated after the video of YDA official went viral.
Talking in Dunya News’ program ‘Nuqta-e-Nazar’, he expressed that a dispute was going on between doctors and lawyers for several days after doctors tortured lawyers over an issue. He further said that the matter was resolved following an apology by the doctors, but Dr Irfan, an associate of Young Doctors Association (YDA), uploaded a derogatory statement online which outraged the lawyers.
He asserted: “We do not accept those who take the law in their own hands,” and added, “Some miscreant ignited the issue, disguising as lawyers.” Hafeez-ur-Rehman Chaudhry claimed that those, who were involved in the riot, were members of a party.
LHCBA President assured that the bar council will take strict action against the lawyers. “I condemn the vandalism at PIC by lawyers,” he expressed, adding that the government has also proved to be incompetent in all of this.
Earlier, a violent clash that erupted between hundreds of lawyers and doctors left at least four people injured when the charged lawyers stormed into the Punjab Institute of Cardiology and broke windows of the emergency ward and several vehicles parked nearby.
