Asif Zardari can be granted bail on medical grounds: Bilawal

Bilawal Bhutto said that the cases against Asif Zardari are false.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday said that former president and party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari is unwell and he can be granted bail on merit and on medical grounds.

Talking to media in Islamabad on Monday, he said that the All Parties Conference (APC) will be held in Islamabad on Tuesday (tomorrow), adding that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has not shared any plan with them.

The PPP chairman further hoped that he [Fazlur Rehman] will share the plans in the APC.

Bilawal went on to say that the cases against Asif Zardari are false, adding that the Supreme Court will decide where the case would heard. He said, "We expect justice from the court."

“The health of former president is in the hands of government’s doctors,” Bilawal said and added Zardari should be given facility of treatment from the personal doctor.

To a question, he said that the government has given relief to the rich instead of poor, adding that the bailout package was given to the billionaires.
