Death toll due to lightning in parts of Sindh rises to 17
Thars Chachro was the most affected area where eleven people died in lightning incidents.
THARPARKAR (Dunya News) - The death toll different parts of Sindh due to multiple lightning strikes during recent spell of rains has risen to 17, Dunya News reported on Thursday.
According to details, Thar’s Chachro was the most affected area where eleven people, including women and children, died in separate incidents of lightning while seven other received burn injuries. The injured were shifted to a taluka hospital.
Other casualties were reported from Sanghar, a city in Sanghar district, Kandhkot, Umarkot, Odani and Diplo.
Besides losses to human lives, dozens of livestock including cows, camels and goats were also killed in related incidents. Standing crops in the area were also damaged due to rain and lightning.
Authorities have urged motorists, commuters and citizens to take caution when driving or travelling during rainy weather.
