Tezgam Express fire: Firdous Shamim Naqvi draws anger of victims' families in Mirpurkhas
The demonstration was carried out against Naqvis presence when he visited the Gharibabad mosque.
MIRPURKHAS (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader and Leader of Opposition in the Sindh Assembly Firdous Shamim Naqvi Friday faced the anger of victim’s families of Tezgam train inferno incident after he paid a visit in Mirpurkhas.
According to details, protest broke out owing to ineligibility and lack of measures by the government on the tragic train incident. The demonstration was carried out against Naqvi’s presence when he visited the Gharibabad mosque to meet with the families of Tezgam inferno’s victims.
The convoy of the PTI leader faced problem due to stand of the government on the tragedy. Firdous Shamim Naqvi left the area when the protest and slogan against him and government intensified.
On Oct. 31, 74 persons lost their lives when three carriages of Tezgam Express caught fire due to explosion in gas cylinder. Pakistan remains in grip of grief as 15 dead bodies have been handed over to the families.
It is pertinent here to mention that the train had caught fire on due to explosion in gas canister purportedly used by Tableeghi Jamaat passengers to cook breakfast near Talwari Station in Liaquatpur area of Rahim Yar Khan. The train was bound from Karachi to Rawalpindi.
Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid announced to give Rs1.5 million to the deceased of the mishap while Rs0.5 million will also be handed over to the injured as compensation money.
