India branding Kashmiris' freedom struggle as terrorism: PM Imran Khan.
NEW YORK (Dunya News) – Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has affirmed that India is branding the freedom struggle of the people of occupied Kashmir as terrorism, Dunya News reported on Saturday.
The premier expressed his views in an interview with CNN in New York and maintained that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi always leveled baseless allegations of terrorism against Pakistan to divert world’s attention from the Kashmir issue.
How can Pakistan send 500 terrorists in presence of 900,000 Indian troops in the held valley, Imran Khan questioned. He said two nuclear powers are ready to confront each other over Kashmir issue for the first time.
Imran Khan said, “What has happened in Kashmir is so alarming and the world does not truly understand […] and what is happening can only get worse. Eight million people have been locked inside for 50-odd days.
“The world does not seem to understand the gravity of the situation. The moment the curfew is lifted […] I fear there is going to be a massacre.
“Kashmiri people have been demanding their right to self determination for the past thirty years. Since Narendra Modi’s government came, the level of oppressions has increased.
“There is no question of me meeting Prime Minister Modi.
“This is only a mindset which believes in Hindu superiority, which doesn’t believe other minorities [...] religions are equal.
“A lot of people didn’t realize this. Even the ones who do realize, look upon India as a market of 1.2 billion people [for] trade and so on. And this is the sad thing: [valuing what is] material over humans.”
