PM Imran meets Chinese FM, discusses Kashmir issue

PM Imran Khan apprised the Chinese FM of ongoing situation in the Indian-occupied Kashmir.

NEW YORK (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who called on him in New York on the sidelines of UN General Assembly Session.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Pakistan s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Maleeha Lodhi also participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the prime minister apprised the Chinese FM of ongoing situation in the Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IoJ&K).

Earlier, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi also held a meeting with his Chinese counterpart and discussed bilateral interest, regional and international situation.

On the occasion, Qureshi said that relations with China are an important component of Pakistan s foreign policy.

The foreign minister said that China s cooperation over unilateral Indian move and the critical situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir is praiseworthy.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to continue close cooperation for peace and stability in the region.
