Sindh govt seeks suspension of cellular services on 9, 10 Muharram

The internet and mobile phone service will not be shut down throughout the province.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh government on Sunday recommended to suspend mobile phone service in the province on Muharram 9 and 10 citing security reasons.

Sindh Home Secretary Kabir Qazi recommended the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to shut down mobile phone service in in the procession and routes of the procession.

The internet and mobile phone service will not be shut down throughout the province.

The provincial government has also directed all Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners in Sindh, to point out the provincial administration about those areas in their jurisdiction where the cellular services required to be suspended.

The government has recommended for suspension of mobile service on selective areas, especially along the routes of mourning processions.
