Joint opposition decides lockdown of Islamabad
Rahbar committee asked to prepare charter of demands.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan assured that the Kashmir issue would be resolved one Modi came into power again.
Addressing a press conference after the opposition’s All Parties Conference (APC) on Monday, he accused the government of selling Kashmir. “Yesterday we are talking about achieving Srinagar and today thinking of saving Muzaffarabad. The government had stabbed the Kashmiris in the back,” he said.
The JUI-F chief said that the opposition will jointly come to Islamabad and put the last nail in the coffin of the government.
“A meeting of the Rahbar Committee would be held on August 26 and the APC will be called on August 29,” he announced.
Fazl further said: “The opposition has decided the lockdown of Islamabad and asked the Rahbar Committee to prepare the charter of demands within a week.”
To a question about the extension granted to Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, he said that extensions are granted to government employees and it was not a political matter.
