PM Khan seeks report over Irfan Siddiqui's arrest: Firdous
She asserted the PML-N leaders overplayed the incident to get political oxygen from it.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (PM) on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Monday that the premier has sought a report about the incident happened with columnist Irfan Siddiqui.
In a tweet, she said the decision will be taken in the light of the facts, and the responsible person(s) would be brought to justice.
Awan said Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed displeasure over the incident and took its notice.
She said Siddiqui had to suffer due to the lacunae in the system for removal of which the premier was determined.
She asserted the PML-N leaders overplayed the incident to get political oxygen from it.
Irfan Siddiqui was arrested for allegedly violating tenancy law by Islamabad police on Friday and later released on bail yesterday.
