WASHINGTON (Dunya News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa met Senator Lindsey Graham and General Jack Keane (Retd), said a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Regional security situation, Afghan peace process and Pak-US bilateral relationship were discussed in the meeting. Senator Graham recollecting his visit to Pakistan appreciated Pakistan’s role in improving security dynamics in the region.
COAS apprised them of the improved security situation in Pakistan and the resulting opportunities for foreign businesses to invest in Pakistan. “Bilateral relationship holds potential for both countries and would also assist in regional stability,” COAS.

COAS at US State Department
General Qamar Javed Bajwa also visited the US State Department and called on US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. The two discussed regional security issues especially focusing on Afghan peace process, noting the importance of an Afghan led and Afghan controlled solution.
Ways to improve progress of Afghanistan peace process and bilateral relationship as follow up to the summit meeting on 22 Jul 19 were discussed. “Pakistan attaches great importance to restoring a robust bilateral relationship based on mutual respect, trust & shared values.”

COAS at Pentagon
COAS Bajwa interacted with US Military leadership at Pentagon. The executives discussed regional security situation and bilateral military cooperation. The US leadership acknowledged contributions of Pakistan Army in war against terrorism and role towards Afghan peace process.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa also visited Arlington National cemetery to pay homage to US national heroes in Washington.
