PM Imran dons traditional attire, Peshawari chappal in White House meeting
PM Imran wore a navy blue Shalwar Kameez and a Peshawari chappal to the White House.
WASHINGTON DC (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan, on his maiden three-day visit to the United States of America, met the US President Donald Trump donning traditional attire, a navy blue Shalwar Kameez and his favorite black Peshawari chappal which became centerpiece at the White House.
Social media exploded with PM Imran representing the cultural attire on his visit to the US. PM Imran’s Peshawari chappal remained prominent in the meeting with Trump at the White House. "Great to have Prime Minister Imran Khan of Pakistan at the White House," Melania Trump said on Twitter.
Nooruddin, who made the Peshawari chappal, expressed that he made the chappal for PM Imran Khan and gifted to him in 2017.
The First Lady Melania Trump shared photo of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s meeting on Twitter which attracted a lot of praise for Imran Khan for for gracefully representing his culture on a foreign trip as his Peshawari chappal continued to be the focus of social media.
