Rs18.4 billion released for reconstruction of 57,000 houses in tribal districts

The special assistant to the PM has termed it as another step towards the betterment of tribal areas

(Web Desk) – The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has released Rs18.4 billion for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of more than 57,000 damaged houses in newly merged five tribal districts.

According to a compensation chart uploaded by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (PM) on Media Iftikhar Durrani on his twitter account, around Rs15.389 billion have been paid for 38,473 fully damaged and over Rs3 billion for 19,097 partially damaged houses in these districts.

The special assistant to the PM has termed the payment as ‘another step towards the betterment of tribal people.’


NA likely to pass Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2019


In yet another step to mainstream the tribal areas, the National Assembly resumes its session at the parliament house in Islamabad today, and is expected to pass the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2019 for increasing the seats of the tribal districts in the lower house and KP provincial assembly.

The constitution amendment has been moved by Mohsin Dawar.

During the session on Friday, both the opposition and treasury held threadbare discussion on the constitution amendment and extended full support to it.
