ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari on Wednesday took notice of torture of a woman by her husband for refusing to dance in front of his friend in Lahore.

In her latest tweet, the federal minister said, ““Took notice and checked - my office was informed by SHO PS Kahna Lahore.”

She said, “Police have registered FIR and arrested both accused & booked under sections 337-v and 506, adding that one of the arrested is Faisal her husband.”

“Medical report of the woman is awaited,” Mazari added.

Earlier, a woman was allegedly assaulted by her husband and his friends in Lahore’s Defence area for refusing to dance in front of them.

The victim, who was identified as Asma Aziz, told that she was brutally tortured by her husband Mian Faisal and his friends with plastic pipes. She told that she was held down by a servant while her husband shaved her head.

The woman added that she managed to escape from the house and reached a police station, where she was asked for money. She said that her medical checkup was also not arranged due to lack of money.

The victim further appealed to the people to help her as both of her parents are dead. Asma had performed love marriage with Faisal four years ago.

Police officers have registered a case against the suspect and launched an operation to nab him.
