Summary Loadshedding reaches record-high 16 hours in most of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Peshawar.
PESCO has increased the duration of loadshedding in several parts of the province after rising intensity of weather, especially in Peshawar. Life has come to a standstill due to 2-3-hour loadshedding after each hour of supplied electricity.The situation is even direr in the suburban areas where unannounced loadshedding continues without any official schedule or limit.This situation has caused shortage of water and severely affected the domestic life in these areas.According to the PESCO spokesman, the loadshedding schedule is 7 hours for urban areas and 8 hours for rural areas.Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is currently facing 540 megawatts power shortfall. The loadshedding hours can kick in unexpectedly and unpredictably as grids are occasionally hit by sudden and increased power loads.
