Taking the high moral ground Pakistan displayed that its a peaceful country

(Web Desk) – In a grand gesture to diffuse the high tensions between India and Pakistan that could destabilize the entire region, Prime Minister Imran Khan while showing firmness, courage and determination took a bold step of handing back the captured Indian pilot Abhinandan, whose jet was shot down by PAF for intrusion into Pakistani airspace.

Addressing the joint session of the parliament, PM Imran reiterated his resolve to guard the sovereignty of Pakistan at all cost. He reminded India that his efforts for peace should not be considered as weakness. The armed forces through their display of taking down the Indian jet have shown that any aggressive measures taken by the neighbor will be answered accordingly.

The prime minister mentioned the bravado of Tipu Sultan, who when pushed against the wall preferred death over bending knees before the enemy.

The PM also highlighted the Kashmir issue, India and Pakistan are on the brink of war after the suicide attack carried out by a Kashmiri on Indian army in Pulwama, who because of Indian tactics of atrocities had resorted to become a human bomb.

Dialogue is the only way forward and issues need a diplomatic solution rather than an eyeball confrontation that leads to death and destruction.

PM Khan’s magnanimity was welcomed on the diplomatic front as a wise and earnest decision to end the conflict. Similarly serious voices across the border lauded the peace initiative taken by the premier.

Keeping an eye on the pulse of the masses, taking the moral high ground Pakistan displayed that it’s a peaceful country with no other designs than to defend itself, the right given to it as a sovereign state.

The response from Public was overwhelming, Twitter a popular medium used for expression by the masses and intelligentsia alike saw hashtag PM Imran Khan trending in India. Yesterday we saw the war jingoism taking a back seat and the hashtag ‘Say No To War’ was the top trend after two Indian jets were shot down by Pakistan Air force, in the sphere of social media.

To gauge what was the opinion of people after the premier’s peace gesture, here under are a few tweets describing the general mood prevailing;
