DG ISPR Maj General Asif Ghafoor held a press conference after LoC violation by India.

RAWALPINDI (Web Desk) – Addressing a press conference in response to violation on the Line of Control (LoC) by India earlier in the day, Director General (DG) of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor told India to ‘get ready for a surprise’ by Pakistan.

“Now it is time for India to wait for our response; the response will come at the time and point of our choosing where the civil-military leadership decides, and as a matter of fact, has already decided. It is your turn now to wait and get ready for our surprise,” the Army spokesperson said.

“You (India) have proved that you are not a democracy. You have choosen a path of war without knowing the consquences for the peace and stability in the region. We have fought for 15 years to bring peace and stability in the region.”

“If you (India) look at this option that we focus towards you, we are focusing towards you.”

In the beginning of the press conference, Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor gave a presentation, highlighting claims made by the Indian media.

"They are claiming that they remained in the Pakistani airspace for 21 minutes and killed 350 terrorists. They claim that the second strike was in Muzaffarabad and the third in Chakothi.”

"Allah almighty is the greatest and we should not make tall claims, but come and try to spend 21 minutes in Pakistani airspace," the DG ISPR said.

EXCLUSIVE: Dunya News exposes India’s false claim

The DG ISPR futher briefed: "According to war methodology, our entire Air Force could not have stayed airborne. Our safeguards on land were in place. So if they had tried an on-ground incursion, they would have met the response that we had planned."

He said last night, first visibility of Indian planes was noted in Lahore-Sialkot border. They were intercepted by PAF jets but they did not cross the border.

Another formation of Indian planes was noted in Okara-Bahawalpur sector and our combat patrol engaged it. That formation also did not cross the border.

The DG ISPR said the third and heavy air formation was witnessed in Kiran Sector of Muzaffarabad that had crossed the border.

Their formation came inside our territory 4 to 5 nautical miles. They remained four minutes in our airspace and fled when challenged. While fleeing, they unloaded their payloads at the place of Jaba.

Payload of hastily escaping Indian aircrafts fell in open.

"They wanted to target a place where civilians could have died, so they could claim that they targeted a terrorist camp."

"The ground troops’ job is to ascertain if anything has fallen or not. When Indian jets went back, we checked through our line of communication and found that there were no strikes.

Major General Asif Ghafoor said Indian claim of killing 350 terrorists is totally false and fabricated as no debris or other destruction is found after their claimed strike. He said media will be taken to the site to show them the truth.

"But the local media is there and have shown that there was not even a single brick there. They are claiming that they killed 350 terrorists; I say even if they had killed 10, what about their bodies, their funerals, their blood? The spot is open for anybody and everybody: for ambassadors, defence attaches, UN military observer group in Pakistan."

"A lie has no feet to stand on. You saw their first ‘surgical strike’. I told India that you will never be able to surprise us. We have not been surprised. We were ready, we responded."

NSC decides to respond India at its own choice of time and place

Earlier, the National Security Council (NSC), which was convened to combat the recent spike in tensions between nuclear-armed Pakistan and India after Indian Air Force (IAF) violated Pakistan’s airspace and the Line of Control (LOC), had decided to respond to India at its own choice of a time and a place.

The meeting strongly rejected India’s claim of striking at alleged terrorists camps inside Pakistan.

The meeting while strongly denouncing India’s false claims of carrying out a preemptive strike on terrorist camps inside Pakistan concluded that India has pushed the entire region towards instability for the sake of upcoming general elections.

Furthermore, it has been decided to convene a joint parliamentary session on the matter to take opposition in confidence and express unity in terms of the country’s defence.

“Pakistan reserves the right to self-defence and respond to such aggression,” he said.

"The claimed area of strike is open for the world to see the facts on ground. For this, domestic and international media is being taken to the impact site."

The Foreign Minister further said: "Prime Minister has directed that all elements of national part including the armed forces and the people of Pakistan to remain prepared for all eventualities."

"The Prime Minister has decided to engage with the global leadership to expose irresponsible Indian policy in the region. He also appreciated timely and effective response of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) to repulse Indian attempt without any loss of life or property."
